What Type Of Wood Do You Want?

With proper Woods in your bag, you need not have to run into the woods! They are essential clubs for the perfect golfer. The 3 wood and the 5 wood are both better for the initial starter who has just started playing. The 3 wood has a shorter shaft but a higher loft. Even though you might give up a little distance, your contact will improve until you are ready to use the driver. Another Wood is necessary off of fairway lies, namely the 5 or 7 woods. The 5 wood gets you a little more distance but the 7 wood might be easier to hit. For example, when using your woods (the clubs with giant heads on them made of titanium/steel wood in modern day times) it will get the ball travelling hundreds of yards off the tee.

Believe it or not! the wooden club has several parts that make that round dimpled ball travel down the middle of the fairway. The hosel of the golf wood club is where the head actually connects to the shaft of the club. The face is where the club tries to make contact with the ball. The sole of the wood club is what rests on the ground when you’re lining up a shot. The slope is very important to a golfer when selecting a wood, for when there are obstructions in front of him on the golf course.

The higher the slope of the club, the higher the trajectory of the ball which leads your shots directly into the trees or woods. Here I will list the average slope of each golf wood club: 3 wood: 20 degrees and 5 wood: 15 degrees.
